Features

• Waterbased: Low odour, easy cleaning.

Intended Usages

• Direct application to interior cement plaster and unglazed bricks.
• Suitable for gypsum board ceilings.

Application Details

• Mixing: Stir before use with a flat paddle to an even consistency. Stir occasionally during use.
• Method: Roller, brush or airless spray.
• Thinning: Not recommended.
• Cleaning: Remove as much of the product as possible from the application equipment before cleaning with tap water.

Conditions:

• Temperature between 5°C and 40°C.
• Relative humidity of less than 85%, preferably between 10:00 and 16:00.
• Ideally apply when the temperature of the substrate is at least 2°C above dew point.
• If possible away from direct sunlight.

Drying time:
Touch dry – 30 minutes.
Note: Higher temperatures will accelerate the drying times (approximately halved for every 10°C increase), whilst lower temperatures will retard the drying time (approximately doubled for every 10°C decrease).

Recoating time:
4 hours at 23°C.

Requirements:
Two coats.

Surface Preparations
Sound cement plaster:

• Direct – no primer required.

Gypsum ceiling boards:

• Direct – no primer required.

Gloss enamel:

• Sand well, clean and apply Prominent Premium Universal Undercoat.

Emulsion paint:

• Clean well and apply directly.

Chalky surfaces:

• Wire brush/high-pressure water jet, allow drying and then apply one coat Prominent Dampcure or Prominent Surface Restorer.

Poor condition surfaces, i.e. excessive peeling:

• Strip down and treat as new work.

Limitations

• Cannot be applied in cold and moist conditions.
• Product can not accommodate excessive movement i.e. hairline cracking or application onto flexible coatings like texture coats and waterproofing systems.
• Cannot be used on excessively rough plasters as varying thickness in the coating can lead to mud cracking.
• Chalking takes place due to UV exposure.
• Tinting not recommended.
• Not for use as finishing coat in bathrooms and kitchens.
• The low VOC compliance is applicable for batches manufactured from 1 September 2010 onwards.

Safety

• Keep out of reach of children.
• Ensure to maintain good ventilation during application and drying process.
• In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water or a recognised skin cleaner. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with running water and seek medical advice.
• If product is ingested drink plenty of water or milk. Do not induce vomiting at any time. Seek medical advice.

• To avoid any risk of spillage, always transport in a secure upright position.
